The River Oaks area is bounded by 16 Mile Creek to the west, Dundas Rd. to the north, Trafalgar Road to the east, and Upper Middle Rd. to the south.

The Oak Park community encompasses the North East section of River Oaks, now regarded as the Uptown Core, which is home to large-scale retailers, restaurants and taverns. Oak Park is a densely populated neighbourhood of detached homes, semi-detached, low rise and high-rise apartments which were constructed within the last 10 years. This area is still actively being developed.

The balance of River Oaks real estate market is more suburban in nature with detached homes making up most housing, however there are numerous freehold and condo townhomes. River Oaks is well known for its abundance of walking and biking trails known as the Oakville Heritage Trail, flowing throughout the community and along the east side of 16 Mile Creek.

As a relatively new neighbourhood, River Oaks has a wide mix of demographics. Typically, both parents are income earners with a proud sense of home ownership. There are plenty of parks and green space for young families, with a variety of schools and pre-school/daycare options. If your looking for entertainment in the area, River Oaks Community Centre is the go-to spot. River Oaks is close to Sheridan College, one of Canada’s premier polytechnic institutes. Most recently, the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex opened its doors to a 4-pad hockey arena as well as a leash free dog park and 2 lit soccer pitches. Subsequent phases will include an additional Soccer pitch, Cricket pitch, BMX and skateboard park, splash pad and playground, health and fitness facility, and library.

Access to all major highways is very convenient, and Oakville Transit has a station located in the Uptown Core providing local transportation as well as a quick link to both GO Transit and Via Rail.
